CURATORIAL PROJECTS
The Artist Society Collective Founded in 2021 as Sizzle Lyk Dat Studio and now named The Artist Society Collective since 2025, it is an effort to make art accessible to all while supporting experimental artist practices that defy mediums and challenge normativity. Artists have always existed on the fringes of society, delicately balancing their unique outsider view, playing the misfits and the outcasts. But while artists may exist on the fringes, they are not solitary creatures. While they may seek solitude, they also seek connection, through their work, sharing their ideas for change in the world they inhabit with the art they make. The Artist Society Collective is a collective that seeks to connect this fringe society to all audiences, beyond the ‘artworld’. The collective’s core members are writer and arts worker, Sahana Srikanth, artist and publisher, Mohit Mahato and artist, curator and writer, Tasneem Lohani. Collective members are not permanent and can come and leave as they please. There will be no compulsion to do or be anything a member doesn't want to. We imagine it as a truly democratic space wherein if anyone aligns with us and would like to join us in our endeavour, they are welcome. Here is a society for misfits, dreamers, troublemakers, and artists. This is a space for all.
